My work at its core is a critique of the commodification of queer and neurodivergent identities by capitalism. Only allowing us to exist in the margins if we help turn a profit. Everything must be packaged and sold for it to be legitimate in the eyes of our society even our misery and mental illnesses.

Orc.Style was my lifeline to agency and authenticity when I was losing the battle against mental illness.  Being a queer with AuADHD, I have always felt like an outsider looking in. A monster at the fringes of society. I have been told my whole life that I am too much, too loud, too difficult, and too queer.  The world kept trying to make me less when I knew I was more. Creating OS and discovering my love of DnD were both key components on my journey back to better mental health. Loving the little monsters we hold within until they aren't there to terrify and terrorize us anymore is what orc.style is all about.

The Sparkle Orc Universe its characters, lore, and underlying systems are all about my journey to mental health and queer radical self love in a world that is actively trying to destroy us. I have been working on this story and these ideas in some way/shape/form since I was in high school and now I am unleashing them to do good in the world. I have been joined on this adventure with some amazing friends and collaborators who have shared art and characters for us to play with.

I grew up loving action figures He-Man, Transformers, X-Men, Toxic Crusaders, Ninja Turtles, Spawn and Bucky O'Hare. I envisioned Orc.Style as a way to create my own fantasy toy line featuring characters inspired by my real life queer heroes and family, to create a world where the queer person isn't an afterthought but the default main character.  .

Everything you see in the site is built within an elaborate universe called the Spiral and all the lore runs on an internal tabletop role-play gaming Sparkle System. We will be sharing more details about these places and systems in the years to come. I hope to share with you stories of queer marginalized people and the heroes they have to be just to survive in a world that is rapidly falling to fascism and fear.
